WE MEET THEM WHERE THEY ARE.

Some kids are just born understanding this stuff. It’s easy for them. They pick up after themselves and they excel at doing chores.

Other kids really struggle with routines. They don't even notice the messes that they leave everywhere.

But if your kids are the second type… their brains just work differently. We meet them where they are and motivate them by tapping into their unique personality to make them crave doing their routines as they set them up.

We link screen time to completing routines and teach them how to monitor it themselves so you're not the bad guy.

To your kids... I’m actually teaching them how to train you to give them more screen time (but I do that by showing them how to take care of their stuff, handle their responsibilities, stay healthy, do well in school, and make time for real-life friend time too.)

About The Teacher...

I'm Rosemarie. I'm a behavioral specialist who works with chronically disorganized women to learn home management and budgeting skills by working with their unique personalities.

Let's just say that I was the cautionary tale of what happens when kids become adults without life skills. I was an absolute mess. We're talking wet laundry forgotten in the washer, so many dishes in the sink that you can't even wash your hands, and having to walk over clothes and trash just to get out the front door.

Every time I tried to change, I ended up worse than when I started.

But everything changed when I finally got smart and started working WITH my personality instead of against it.

I learned how to hack cleaning, meal planning and budgeting to get the same results with much less effort in a way that worked with my brain. I learned how to automate most of the things that I didn't love doing, and I learned how to incentivize myself to stick with it long term.

And 13 years later? I'm still doing it.

I reduced our spending by $23,537 a year, paid off our debt, ditched the housework fights, kept the house clean, quit my job to stay home with our babies and started a business that has served over 18 million families in the last 11 years learning how to manage their homes and money with a "difficult to change" personality.

Life Skills For Kids has been a five-year-long labor of love that brought our best-selling step-by-step home (and life!) management class for adults... to kids.

Because nothing gives you relief in the house like kids helping you instead of leaving chaos tornadoes everywhere!

“We’re three weeks in with using Life Skills For Kids and both of my daughters love it. Savannah set up her own bedtime routine and has been sticking with it and she’s cleaning her room without being asked.”

- Savannah’s Grown Up

“This is so smart and I’ve barely had to spend time on it. I make sure they sit down with the lesson once a week, and they do it all on their own. It’s actually sticking and they’d really done all of the work themselves.”

— A.H.’s Grown Up

My son’s older than the ages recommended for this but he really wanted to do it because of the promise of more screen time. I’m so glad we did this! You’re a genius for training the kids to be responsible and capable while telling them that you’re teaching them how to train their grown-ups to give them more screen time. It worked! He handles his stuff now and he gets a lot more freedom and xbox.”

- Aiden’s Grown Up

"I wish I had this when I was a kid. They should teach this in every school."

- Nica's Grown Up

LESSON 23: UNLIMITED SCREEN TIME PROPOSAL.

Create an “unlimited screen time proposal” and set the expectations that they plan to meet in order to earn it. You can decide based on that proposal and their history if you want to try it. If you do... there are check-ins established to get your feedback, if you aren't ready... there’s a plan to continue working towards responsibility in order to try again.

How involved do I have to be because I have no extra time?

If your kid can read and write, not at all. Your job is to make this a weekly activity for them (like soccer or gymnastics), only you don't have to go anywhere. It’s an hour once a week.

You give them a screen they can watch the video on (iPad, iPhone, laptop, desktop, tablet), then it’s my job to get buy-in from the kids and make them want to do the work... which we do exceptionally well.

There are three lessons on cooking that they have to skip without grown-up involvement (because, for obvious reasons, we can't have kids using heat in the kitchen without supervision), but we build that into the program with clear instructions to come back to it when their grown-up says they’re ready and can supervise.

Do you teach anything controversial? Super religious? Political? Sexual? Anything Weird? How do I know what you're teaching them?

Technically no. But remember when I said we get buy-in from the kids? We promise them that we’re going to teach them basic life skills, and also how to train their grown-ups into trusting them with more screen time. So that may qualify as weird to you.

We teach the why behind the life skills (like why sleep actually matters), then show them how to make it work for their unique personality so they’ll want to do it, and then we gamify the whole thing with levels, points, and fun rewards.

We cover sleep, room cleanliness, routines, hygiene, chores, basic cooking (starting with no-heat meal prep, then gradually introducing simple supervised cooking), time management, money basics, and how to keep track of their stuff so mornings don’t feel like a scavenger hunt.

Nothing political, nothing religious, and absolutely nothing about identity or values that should come from you. We just teach the practical skills your kid needs to be more independent, and how to make it fun so they actually do it.

What ages is this for? I have a 6-year-old and a 12-year-old and I can’t see them being motivated by the same thing.

It’s designed for kids between the ages of 5-12 years old. We had testers successfully do it older than 12, but just keep in mind that the messaging may be more simplified than they need.

Keep in mind that if your child can not read or write independently yet, they’ll be able to complete the tasks in the videos, but it’s more of an introduction to the life skills. They could come back to complete the workbooks and solidify their routines when they’re a little older.

How can this work? I've tried everything else.

There's essentially four reasons why this works so well...

1. We Incentivize Everything to Get Buy-In.

We use what kids want to do to get them to do what they need to do. Instead of forcing habits... we connect them to rewards, challenges, and real-life benefits so kids are motivated to follow through. To put it plainly... your kids want unlimited screentime. XBOX, Tablets, Computers, Phones, TV’s, Devices, VR... you name it. They want it all. They’re kind of "Meh" on like basically everything else... sleep, homework, personal hygiene or basically anything that feels like an obstruction to unlimited screens. We work with their unique personality to teach them how to “train their grown-ups” to let them have it.

But there's a hidden part that isn't immediately obvious to them...

They train you by transforming themselves into responsible kids that understand balance, takes care of their bodies, fosters real life "in person" friendships, gets exercise, eats healthy, does lots of chores without asking, and can even make their own dinner safely (with supervision or by using “no cook” methods).

It's important to note though that you DO NOT HAVE TO LET YOUR CHILD HAVE UNLIMITED SCREEN TIME IF THEY DON'T CONVINCE YOU THAT THEY CAN MANAGE IT AND THEN PROVE IT. But between you and me? They’re going to convince you. You both win. All of your concerns are addressed and fixed, and they get what they want... while you ALSO get what you want. And most importantly... We teach them how to manage their own screen time in a way that they actually WANT to limit themselves.

2. We Do Things in the Right Order.

We teach foundation first and simple routines which build into complex routines. And we look at it holistically... which is a fancy "woo-woo" word (from not very "woo-woo" people) that means we tackle all aspects of their lives... sleep routines, person hygiene, playground politics, dealing with difficult personalities, keeping their room clean, chores training, and even how to cook simple meals safely.

Plus, because we’re experts in executive function (like being a hot mess, having adhd, being chronically disorganized, or just being very tired and very overwhelmed), we’re really good at finding workaround hacks for obstacles and explaining things in a way that assumes they know absolutely nothing. We also teach this class in a way that it requires minimal involvement from you so that it's not one more thing on your plate.

3. We set it up so that you ARE NOT the one maintaining this system. They are.

No offense. I love you. You’re awesome. But you need to focus on learning these skills for yourself and not micromanaging your kids (poorly) in a “There are no rules! Do whatever you want as long as you leave me alone!" binge and “You've lost screens until you’re 18!” purge. This is basically our old friend the “trashed and untrashed cycle”, “on budget and off budget”, or “on diet and off diet...”... Its all the same with slightly different solutions that all factor in some sort of ... "bare minimum effort on a consistent basis". Which is what we teach your kids.

4. Bonus: New Person Energy.

Ever notice how your kid has tantrums at home and rarely listens, but then the teacher talks about how quiet they are? That's "new person energy". I’m not their parental figure. I’m basically a teacher from the 1900s (as they like to remind me) whose promising to teach them how to train their parents to give them unlimited screen time. I’m like their grown-up, but on their side, and without the history of ever grounding them or taking away their screens.

My child has ADHD, would this still work?

Our programs were created specifically for chronically disorganized people, which includes kids with ADHD. We specialize in brains that just work a little differently. Obviously, Life Skills For Kids won't cure any conditions and is not a replacement for medical advice or treatment, but I believe that this system can help your kids organize their life and help your home be more peaceful.

Can I buy this for my Grandkids?

Absolutely! In fact, grandparents are some of our favorite customers. Life Skills for Kids is a perfect gift for your grandkids whether you’re helping raise them, spending weekends together, or just want to make sure they grow up confident, capable, and a little less glued to a screen.

You’ll get instant access to everything online, so you can work through it together, send it to their parents, or just have it ready when they visit. No nagging required... we make it fun, funny, and ridiculously easy for kids to actually want to learn.

I have two kids, do I need to buy two?

Nope! One purchase covers your whole household. Whether you’ve got one kid or five, you only need to buy it once. You’ll get instant access to everything, and your kids can go through it together or at their own pace. No extra charges, no hidden fees, no sibling battles over who gets the login.
